This river called LIFE
"Life isn't just about what you can have; it's about what you have to give. What kind of person do you want to be?"
A friend told me a long time ago that each of us was a boat on this river that we call LIFE. As we sail through Life, we always have people on the boat with us. Some people we invite to join us; others invite themselves; some people jump out of our boat after some time; we also ask some to leave; but there are those that stay with us through rough waters and never leave. These are the friends, the family, the spouses, the ones that know all about us and still, they stay through the journey.
Friendships are the most gratifying assets one can have in life. I have been blessed with several throughout the years, but tomorrow I'll have to accept the fact that a very close friend is moving to another country. I know, it's not the end of our journey together, but it will certainly make it more difficult to share it. I met this friend 18 years ago when I first arrived in NYC. There's certainly a lot of history and this friend is the most likable, intelligent and unselfish person I have ever met! Since I don't possess her qualities, I have to admit that it was selfish of me to not want her to leave. I can only hope that our rivers meet again in the near future :o)
